Hi, I’m Claire. The handsome, bearded fellow over there on the right? That’s my husband Patrick. I am a former Army-brat who traversed the U.S. as a child, studied in Asia as a young adult, and finally put down roots here in Nashville, TN.
After graduating from Furman University with degrees in Political Science and Asian Studies, I joined the education reform movement with Teach for America. I spent 2009-2012 sweating it out in a classroom, before launching my writing career at The Tennessean as a regular contributor.
I spent a season as managing editor at Native, a well-designed, hyper-local magazine that uses creative writing to help Nashvillians get to know their neighbors. More recently, my writing has been featured in The Christian Science Monitor, Manner & Lane, Darling Magazine, Bearings, American Songwriter and Her Nashville among others.
There’s nothing I love more than telling good stories. So, get in touch! What story can I help you tell?

Love your Bio, I look forward to taking or meeting you.

Thank you Claire for writing this beautiful article in Celebration of International Women’s Day! I spent the day at Virginia Wesleyan College raising awareness on child trafficking in America and inspiring young women to pursue their passion. So wonderful to see you living your dream! May God richly bless you as you continue help others tell their story. Chandra Moyer
