Hi, I’m Claire. The handsome, bearded fellow over there on the right? That’s my husband Patrick. I am a former Army-brat who traversed the U.S. as a child, studied in Asia as a young adult, and finally put down roots here in Nashville, TN.
After graduating from Furman University with degrees in Political Science and Asian Studies, I joined the education reform movement with Teach for America. I spent 2009-2012 sweating it out in a classroom, before launching my writing career at The Tennessean as a regular contributor.
I spent a season as managing editor at Native, a well-designed, hyper-local magazine that uses creative writing to help Nashvillians get to know their neighbors. More recently, my writing has been featured in The Christian Science Monitor, Garden and Gun Magazine, Manner & Lane, Darling Magazine, Bearings, American Songwriter and Her Nashville among others.
There’s nothing I love more than telling good stories. So, get in touch! What story can I help you tell?
